A Stolen Sled By A......Dog and an Assignment!

Look what this little guy did!  You just know there is a story there.  Was he clever or just plain sneaky?!  He is kind of cute, though.  Hmmm...I would like you to use a few of your vocabulary words based on this video or an aspect of the other animal video I posted and write a little story. If you would like to find your own video(approved by a parent), then you may embed it in a Google Doc, and write a story.  Girls, who use either of my videos,  should just write on a Google Doc, and we'll add the video later!

Remember!  Use a great hook for the first sentence.
What other directions do you think that I would give to you about writing a paragraph?
I bet you can hear my voice now!
Write down the directions about sentences that you think that I would give, or you may put them in a rap! Send it to me through Google Drive!

We'll have fun sharing these tomorrow!

Martin Luther King's Last Speech: "I've Been To The Mountaintop"

Watch this video.  It was Martin Luther King's last speech.  We will discuss it tomorrow.
Think. Pair. Share.

Winter Lull Before the Storm

The Eternal Flame for Martin Luther King
Atlanta, Georgia
Hi Girls,

I hope that you enjoyed your break due to the birthday of Martin Luther King and in celebration of all that he was able to accomplish in order to promote equality and peace in our nation.  He is a hero to all of us and to generations yet to come.

In honor of Dr. King, I did not assign Wordly Wise or Spelling this week.  We will concentrate on Math and Writing instead.  Of course, they are forecasting a major winter storm due to hit on Friday, so, on Thursday, make sure you take your Wordly Wise books home, as well as your Math Journal and Book that you are reading.  Just in case this storm is a big one, we all need to be prepared. If you lose electricity, you can still do your vocabulary cards, as well as the pages in the WW book.  The  vocab prep schedule we always follow will prevail!  If I am able, I will post updates and assignments on this site.

Chances are you will have a wonderful day to play in the snow, and we will all be back in school on Monday! Have fun, and come back prepared for some creative winter writing!
